With Groupon's $700 million initial public offering fresh off the press, you can bet the ranks of competitors to the daily deals giant are about to swell.
On Tuesday, a Palo Alto startup that bills itself as a smarter alternative for small businesses looking to woo customers announced its first round of venture capital.
PunchTab landed $4.4 million from backers including Mohr Davidow Ventures, former Facebook vice president Chamath Palihapitiya and CrunchFund, the new venture firm from TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington. Read more>>>>
